Full flexibility with new survey modes, answer editing, and multi-line inputs

This month we’re releasing major upgrades to how supplier surveys work — giving you more control over data quality, workflows, and emissions generation.

You can now choose between Internal and External collection modes when sending surveys:

  • External mode mirrors our current approach — suppliers submit surveys and emissions are generated directly in their emissions hub.
  • Internal mode lets your team take control — after suppliers submit, you can review, edit, and generate emissions yourself. You can also reopen surveys, override supplier inputs, and track who made edits or submissions.

To support this, we’ve introduced survey answer editing. Now, you can override individual answers (text, numbers, etc.) without needing to re-engage the supplier. Original and edited values are both visible, and emissions will use your edits. We also record who made the last changes for better auditability.

In addition, surveys now support multiple answers per question using a new “line item” structure. This allows respondents to input multiple data entries (e.g. several flights or activities) for the same question — making survey responses more structured and flexible without complicating the UI.

Finally, the new Activity Block has landed — a complete overhaul of our old activity-based model. It enables advanced input options like multi-dimensional amounts, travel return trip logic, metadata tagging, and overrides — all designed to streamline emissions generation from structured survey data.
