We’re thrilled to introduce the latest product update, which brings a range of new features and improvements to enhance your experience using Avarni. We've listened to your feedback and our team of dedicated developers have been hard at work adding several new features and making ongoing improvements to the platform. Read on to learn more:

New features

Enhanced factor dropdown display

We understand the importance of tailor selecting emissions factors to your specific needs. To streamline this process, we have added extra information to the emission factor dropdown display. Additionally, we've introduced a new search shortcut functionality, allowing you to easily search and apply the most applicable emissions factors. This improvement will save you time and help you make more accurate calculations.

Collaborative supplier questionnaires

Collaboration is key when it comes to assessing and managing your supply chain's carbon footprint. With our latest update, you can now send supplier questionnaires to multiple users within the same supplier organisation. This feature enables multiple individuals to access and answer the questionnaire and collaborate on it, facilitating more efficient and comprehensive data collection.

Explicit GHG emission category specification

We understand that each organisation has its unique reporting requirements. Therefore, we have introduced the ability for users to explicitly specify the GHG emission category under which they would like their uploaded data to be reported. This has been added as an optional field when uploading Spend or Travel data.

Bulk creation of sub-organisations

For those managing larger organisations with numerous sub-organisations, we have good news! Our latest update allows you to create multiple sub-organisations in bulk, rather than individually. This time-saving feature is especially beneficial for organisations with 10 or more sub-organisations, making the setup process much more efficient.

Scope 2 calculation automation

We're expanding our coverage! We now provide Scope 2 calculation automation support for 54 new countries. This enhancement ensures that you have access to accurate and comprehensive carbon emissions calculations, regardless of your global presence. Scope 2 calculation will now also accept addresses, and automatically assign the correct grid’s/region’s emission factor.

Countries now supported with Scope 2 automation: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bosnia And Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Montenegro, Netherlands, Nepal, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam.

Dashboard refreshing functionality

We understand the importance of viewing up-to-date and accurate emissions data. To enable you to have the most current information, we have introduced the dashboard refreshing functionality. If you are making a significant changes to your data in the emissions hub, this feature allows you to refresh your dashboard data on demand, ensuring that you always have the most accurate representation of your data.

Improved performance and new backend infrastructure

We're committed to providing a seamless and efficient user experience. Our engineering team has been working over the past month and a half to switch to a new and robust backend infrastructure. As a result, users should experience performance improvements throughout the platform. This upgrade enhances the speed, reliability, and overall performance of our software, ensuring a smoother and more responsive experience for you.

Enhanced usability and bug fixes

In addition to the above updates, we have also made several usability enhancements and addressed various bugs reported by our users. These improvements are aimed at further streamlining your workflow and ensuring a seamless experience while using our software. We greatly value your feedback, and we're committed to continuously refining and optimising our product to meet your needs.

Bug fixes

  • Improved the emission factor search dropdown in the spend review process. Previously, if the factor source selected by the user didn't have any factors for the assigned country, no options would be shown. Now, if the assigned country doesn't match any emission factors, all factors in the factor source will be displayed.
  • Improved handling of negative transactions/inputs (e.g. refunds) during import. Instead of being excluded or transformed, these transactions are now correctly interpreted as negative emissions, aligning with client expectations.
